Sunset at Washington Marlatt Memorial Park

You don’t need a full weekend or long road trip to get out in nature and see something spectacular. All it takes is a park and a sunset. With that in mind, I gathered 17 Prairie Fire folks for a short evening hike at Washington Marlatt Memorial Park. We hiked a short loop, then submitted the Top of the World where we had a sweeping view of Manhattan. We climbed down, did another loop, and for a second time submitted the Top of the World (it isn’t exactly Everest). We watched the sunset, then headed down. Across the street is another couple trail loops, which some of us decided to take on in the dark. Washington Marlatt is a great spot to remind yourself that there are experiences in nature to fit even the busiest of schedules.
